Basic Training Glacier Tours:
Hochalmspitze - Ankogel/Hohe Tauern - 3 days
Only 25 km from the lake Millstätter See lies the mountain Hochalmspitze, surrounded by four glaciers. With 3360 m, it is the highest mountain of the region. This world of ice can easily be reached from the reservoir Kölnbreinsperre at the very end of the valley Maltatal through the mountain valleys Klein or Grosselend. It would be interesting to know whether the herdsmen of the past ever realised the incredible contrast between dark rock and snow covered ice above green meadows and red flowers, when they guarded the cattle.

Programme:
planning and preparation of glacier tours; alpine dangers; meteorology; navigation; glacial history and future; to learn the main knots, rope and rescue techniques for glacier tours; guided summit tour, for example to the mountains Preimlspitz (3133 m), Ankogel (3250 m), Hochalmspitze (3360 m)
