Basic Training Mountaineering:
Reisseckgruppe/Hohe Tauern - 3 days:
Would you like to go on demanding mountaineering tours (not glacial) on your own? To discover a region with 3000 m peaks? We teach you essential basic knowledge concerning planning of tours, navigation, and meteorology. Furthermore, we introduce you into possible alpine dangers and how to react. You will also learn how to walk safely in alpine terrain, on snow and easy fixed rope routes. You will be captured by the spectacular view of lake Millstätter See on the way down to village Seeboden and surprised about your own power and competitiveness

Reißeck (2965 m), Hohe Leier (2774 m), Kleine Leier (2662 m), Hochkedl (2558 m)

Schedule:
We meet on Monday at 8.30 a.m. at the Tourist Office in A-9871 Seeboden, Hauptplatz 1 (phone: +43 4762 81255-0) and at 9.00 a.m. at Gästehaus Hubertus, 9854 Malta 26, phone: +43(0)4733 286. There, we have a meeting and hand out the rental equipment. Afterwards, we take a taxi to the bottom station of Reisseckbahn and take the train, funicular, and the underground train to the hut Reisseckhütte. We spend two nights there. The course ends on Wednesday at about 4.00 p.m.

per person for Alpine Club members Euro 300.--, others Euro 310.--

Mountain guide (3 to 5 participants), 2 days in a hut on half-board, rental equipment (harness and gear for fixed rope course), taxi, funicular

Equipment:
backpack, lightweight sleeping bag for the hut, head lamp, hat, gloves, jacket, hiking boots, slippers, sunglasses for the glacier, sun protection
