1. Hochalmspitze (3360 m) - Detmolder Grat:
Short Description:
Alpine, demanding but highly interesting tour to the "Queen of the Tauern Range", Tauernkönigin

Special Consideration:

(1650 m).

Starting Point:
car park below the reservoir Gösskarspeicher

Directions:

From there, climb to the wind gap Lassacher Winkelscharte (#519), to the ridge Detmolder Grat (# 535), and on the ridge to the peak (easy climbing passages, traversing on steep snow or ice slopes).
Descent via the regular route (Rudolfstätterweg) to clearly visible rock pillars ("Steinerne Mandl"). From there, climb down a steep rock section (protected by steel ropes) to a steep snow or ice slope. Walk down on it and over some more snow slopes, later on a rough path back to the hut Giessener Hütte.
